Why We Created It

The inspiration for the MY HERO Doll came from our own journey. Back in 2020, I deployed on the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) when my son Mason was just a newborn. To bridge the distance, my wife, Jaclyn, and I used recordable storybooks. Every night, Mason heard my voice reading to him, building a connection despite the miles between us.

When I returned, Mason immediately recognized my voice and ran into my arms—a moment we’ll never forget. That experience motivated us to create the MY HERO Doll, a way for other families to maintain meaningful bonds during deployment.
